The Cowden-Herrick school board heard about bus routes at this month's meeting.

Andrea Doty attended the meeting to speak about in-town bus routes. The Board voted earlier to discontinue in-town bus pickup once pedestrian improvements were completed including a walkway.

The Board adopted a resolution regarding the tax levy for the new fiscal year, approved a maternity leave request for Kristen Nohren, discussed high school PARRC test results for last year, and tabled approval of the Bobcat mascot emblem for the December meeting. The Bobcat nickname and emblem will serve the athletic programs next school year, even though the the schools' teams are co-oping this year.

Board members awarded tuck pointing work above the teacher lounge windows at the Herrick building to Mason Masonry of Brownstown, voted to create a constitution second semester class for eighth graders during next school year, and approved a Kindergarten report card. Also, Superintendent Darrell Gordon was authorized to seek a guidance counselor.
