AUDIO: Even the Police Chief Isn't Immune to Scam IRS Calls

Here's how bad this rash of scam IRS phone calls to Effingham area residents is getting; even Police Chief Mike Schutzbach got one of the calls.

Schutzbach, who with County Sheriff Dave Mahon, is trying to warn residents to simply hang up on the callers, got a call and recorded it on his phone. Here is what the scam message sounds like...

Once again, if you get such a phone call, whether it's recorded or a real person, or whether it's a different phone number than we have included here in the story, just hang up. The IRS doesn't call people when there's a problem; these are bogus calls.
