An official with Quad Graphics said cost-cutting moves will have no impact on the Effingham operation.

Quad Graphics spokeswoman Claire Ho Wednesday afternoon said the company be reducing its magazine and catalog printing operation. Ho said two plants will be closed, one in East Greenville, Pennsylvania outside Philadelphia, and one in Augusta, Georgia.

Ho also said the Effingham Quad Graphics operation produces direct mail items, so will not be affected by the cuts.

Quad Graphics CEO Joel Quadracci Tuesday issued a statement that based on disappointing third quarter financial performance, the company would begin closing plants and taking other steps to cut $100 million in costs.
