Teutopolis School Board Sets Salaries, Pay Rates

Teutopolis school board members have approved salary increases for employees not a part of a union group.

Unit Office hourly staff, Tech Coordinator, Tech Assistant and Transportation Director were all addressed; 2% hourly wage increases were approved for the executive secretary and the bookkeeper, the Unit Office assistant will remain on the secretary salary schedule, the Transportation Director and Tech Coordinator will each receive 2% salary increases, and the Tech Assistant will receive a $1/hour increase.

Administrators were also addressed: $1,580 salary increases were approved for this year for the Superintendent, building principals, and the athletic director/assistant principal.

The changes come folowing settlements on contracts with unit teachers and support staff employees.

The Board also accepted the retirement of Brook Wilson as of the end of the 2018-19 school year; approved an athletic training service agreement with Biomax; named Board President Jim Buhnerkempe to the Delegate Assembly at the state school board convention in November; and voted to purchase a 2015 used school bus with less than 10,000 miles from Midwest Transit of Kankakee for $72,458 with trade-in.

Board members hired Rich Niebrugge as junior high boys basketball assistant coach and Dale Kreke as parttime custodian at the junior high. Members were also updated on discussions with the Village Board regarding residential property.
