Altamont resident Marc Ohnesorge has been placed on three years' probation after pleading guilty to a count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

The 31-year-old Ohnesorge was also charged in Sangamon County Circuit Court with two counts of indecent solicitation of a child, as well as a count of traveling to meet a minor. Those counts were dismissed as part of a negotiated plea to the abuse count.

Ohnesorge and three other men, all from Springfield, were charged with soliciting a sex act from a minor over the Internet.

Prosecutors allege that Ohnesorge and the others made contact with a 15-year-old boy on a social networking site and have allegedly been in contact since 2013. The men were indicted by a Sangamon County grand jury in February.

The count to which Ohnesorge pleaded guilty is a Class 3 felony, punishable by up to two to five years in prison. In addition to the term of probation, Ohnesorge will register as a sex offender and will undergo DNA testing. He will also undergo sex offender counseling, and pay fines and costs.
