Mark Anders of Chase Recycling Cardboard and Plastics says he needs some equipment to expand his operation.

The Effingham County Economic Development Advisory Board wants to see that expansion happen.

The Board Tuesday decided to look into helping with financing for the equipment...a conveyor and another lift...to move the recyclables and to perhaps enable Anders to handle additional materials.

Anders' cause was hurt by a fire at Davis Recycling earlier this year. He was renting space in the Davis building at the time, which set him back. He's continuing his collecting of cardboard and plastics, though, and said he'd like to expand what he collects.

Board members agreed that they want to see Anders continue in business, and also gain the benefits of having someone collecting recyclable goods rather than have them thrown in the dump.
