An Effingham resident injured when stung by bees while riding her horse at Forbes State Park near Kinmundy is still listed in critical condition.

50-year-old Kim Kobler was riding with a group of friends on Saturday. Kobler's horse was last in line and crossed a nest of honeybees that had been stirred up by the other horses. The bees stung Kobler numerous times. She ended up off her horse on the ground. She was taken to Salem Township Hospital, was brought to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, and was then transferred on to Carle Hospital in Urbana where hospital officials said Friday her condition remains critical.

A similar incident on Sunday caused hospitalization for a 59-year-old Mt. Vernon woman.
