Former St. Rep. Brad Halbrook Thursday announced he is a candidate for the 102nd District Illinois House of Representatives seat.

Halbrook is seeking election from the district now represented by Adam Brown of Champaign, who is not seeking re-election in 2016.

Halbrook was appointed to the House in the 110th District when Roger Eddy resigned in 2012 to become director of the Illinois Association of School Boards. He decided not to seek election in 2014, and Thursday told reporters a family health issue was behind his decision not to run. That situation has now stabilized.
