Effingham Water Authority trustees discussed a fundraiser at this week's meeting designed to pay for a commercial leaf vac.

The fundraiser is being spearheaded by Dr. Doug Kabbes and Dr. Ryan Jennings and will take place on October 10 from 6-9pm at Firefly Grill. The leaf vac will be donated to the Water Authority for use around the lake.

Trustees also heard from Eric and Theresa Johnson of Lot 12 Twin Oaks regarding ongoing construction at Lot 11. They stated there is still heavy equipment, a rusty pickup truck, front end loader, flat bed and rubbish dumpster on the lot, and that some of the equipment is over the property line on their property. Trustee Chairman Rob Brown said the owner was contacted in May and had made attempts to clean up the lot. Water Authority Attorney Tony Siemer will follow up with another letter.
