Corvettes...hundreds of them...will be visiting downtown Effingham tonight for the Corvette Welcome Fest Downtown Party.

The party, from 5-8pm, will be held on the lawn of the historic Effingham County Courthouse to help kick off this year's Mid America Motorworks Funfest for Corvette.

Mid America Motorworks' Fun Run Road Tour will end in downtown Effingham with a Corvette parade (including candy distributed by the participants) coming down Jefferson Avenue and ending at the Courthouse square. The Corvettes are expected to arrive downtown around 5:15-5:30pm and local residents are invited to the parade. Following the parade, the Corvettes will park down Jefferson Avenue, around the Courthouse square and in parking lots adjacent to the square.

Activities tonight will include a Gabby Goat and Martin's IGA cookout, in addition to Aunt Kim's Kettle Corn and Tropical Sno. You can also enjoy live entertainment by Allie Keck, dance performances from Cayla's Power Tumbling, and giveaways. Several hundred Corvettes are also expected to be on display.

The 22nd annual Mid America Motorworks' Corvette Funfest is expected to bring in over 40,000 visitors to Effingham over the weekend to Mid America's campus on North Route 45.
