City Police Handle Three Crashes w/Injuries Over Weekend

Effingham city police investigated three crashes with injuries over the weekend.

One crash occurred at 7:42pm Friday at Charlotte and Shiloh. Police report an unknown vehicle sideswiped a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Kristen Angel of Effingham. 

Angel was injured and was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment.

Another crash occurred at 3:30pm Firday at the intersection of Henrietta and Fayette. Police say a vehicle driven by 28-year-old Andrew Queitzsch of Effingham rear-ended a vehicle driven by 38-year-old Melissa Koester of Effingham. Koester was injured and was taken by private vehicle for treatment.

The third crash occurred at 8:25pm Saturday at the intersection of North 3rd Street and the interstate exit ramp. A vehicle driven by 61-year-old Diana Pasley of St. Charles, Missouri collided with a vehicle driven by 66-year-old Linda Martin of Neoga. A passenger in Martin's vehicle, 75-year-old Donald Martin of Neoga, was injured, but refused treatment.

No citations were issued in any of the crashes.

City police also investigated a residential burglary in the 2900 block of Veterans Drive between 7:30pm Friday and 1am Saturday. A laptop computer was stolen, along with a computer bag and a collector's baseball bat. A window screen sustained an undetermined amount of damage during the incident.

Also being investigated...a burglary at an apartment in the 100 block of Illini Drive between 11:45am and 11pm during which an iPhone 6 Plus was taken along with an undetermined amount of cash.
