Area resident Dale Wetherell is organizing a group that will travel Tuesday morning to Grayson, Kentucky to join a planned rally in support of jailed county clerk Kim Davis.

Davis made national headlines when she refused to issue marriage licenses to gay couples, saying it violated her Christian convictions against same-sex marriage. A federal judge ordered her to jail Thursday, saying she was in contempt of court for not issuing the certificates after June's Supreme Court ruling in favor of gay marriage nationwide.

Wetherell's group plans to leave the Bales Unlimited office at 4:30am Tuesday, followed by a stop to pick up supporters at Effingham's KC Hall before departing for Grayson, KY.
