Five people were taken for treatment from a crash south of Neoga early Friday morning.

Illinois State Police report two semis and a car were involved in the crash that occurred at 4:02am on I-57 northbound, three miles south of Neoga. Reports indicate that a rig driven by 56-year-old Kenneth Moore of College Park, Georgia ran off the roadway and came to rest in the median, with the trailer of the rig remaining in the passing lane. The driver of the car involved, 22-year-old Ifang Wang of Lilburn, Georgia, could not see the trailer in the dark and struck the trailer head-on. 26-year-old Patrick Murnin of San Antonio, Texas, driving the other semi involved in the crash, attempted to swerve and avoid both units, but ended up sideswiping both of them.

Police say all three drivers were injured, as was a passenger in the car, 33-year-old Job Wong of Norcross, Georgia, and a passenger in the first semi, 30-year-old Terenio Gibson of Atlanta, Georgia. Wang and Wong were taken to Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Coles County, while the other three injured were taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

State police cited Moore for improper lane usage. I-57 in both directions was closed for some time after the crash.
