Mason Teen Injured in Crash Thursday Morning

A Mason teenager was injured in a crash Thursday morning.

Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Hallie Brockett was northbound at 9:18am when she looked down at her speed. Brockett told deputies when she looked up, she was swerving, and overcorrected. The vehicle ran off the roadway, and hit a ditch. The unit rolled over five times before coming to a stop.

Brockett was injured and was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment.

The crash happened along Illinois Route 37, a half-mile north of 400th Avenue in Mason Township. There were no tickets issued.
