Investigation Continues Into Weekend Fire on Franklin Avenue

Local authorities are continuing their investigation into a fire in a shed that also damaged an apartment building along Franklin Avenue in Effingham.

The fire displaced the occupants of all four apartment units in the building. 

Effingham Fire Chief Joe Holomy Wednesday said, "I have reason to believe that someone may have had some involvement in the start of the fire in the shed."

The fire was reported about 11pm Saturday. Firefighters were on scene until just after 1am Sunday. No one was injured in the fire.
