Two men, one from Effingham, one from Olney, were found dead in a motel room in Madison County on Monday and authorities are still working to determine the cause of the deaths.

Madison County Coroner Stephen P. Nonn reported 31-year-old Duane A. Logsdon of Effingham and 30-year-old David A. Davis of Olney were found in a room of the Super 8 Motel in Pontoon Beach shortly after 6:30am. Pontoon Beach police called the Madison County Coroner's Office to the scene at 7:49am. Madison County Coroner's Investigator Todd Ballard pronounced Logsdon and Davis dead just after 8:20am.

Autopsies on the men were conducted Monday afternoon. Both autopsies were reported inconclusive and authorities are awaiting the results of toxicology studies for drugs or alcohol.

Authorities report no overt indication of foul play was present. Pontoon Beach Police Department and Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services are assisting Nonn's office with the investigation.
