Three Fayette County Court Cases End in Prison Time

Three cases concluded this week in Fayette County Circuit Court have ended in prison time for the defendants.

26-year-old Effingham resident Kayla Bissell pled guilty Tuesday to a felony count of retail theft. Bissell was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

25-year-old Andrew Geiger of St. Elmo pled guilty Tuesday to a felony count of possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to two years in prison. The sentence will be served concurrent with another Fayette County case in which Geiger pled guilty to possession of methamphetamine and received the same two-year sentence.

25-year-old Kent Cripe of Vandalia pled guilty Wednesday to a felony count of theft and was sentenced to two years in prison, to be served concurrent with another Fayette County case in which Cripe pled guilty to a felony count of burglary. In that case, Cripe was sentenced to 42 months in prison.
