Fayette County Coroner Bruce Bowen said the death of a rural Mulberry Grove man earlier this week was due to a closed head injury.

Bowen said 67-year-old James Hickman was working at a friend's home installing wrap to the exterior of the structure when he fell approximately 28 feet to a concrete patio. He said the incident occurred when Hickman was standing on a stepladder placed on top of a scaffolding and lost his balance.

Bowen ruled the death Tuesday an accident. An autopsy was conducted Wednesday to determine the official cause of death.
