Considering the crew working on the renovation of Beecher City Junior-Senior High School didn't get to start until after the school year ended in May, things are flying along.

Beecher City Superintendent Scott Cameron estimated the work is 90% complete. Cameron said anything not completed prior to the start of the school year will be finished in the evenings. He said the remodeled building will be opened to the public for a look once the project is completely finished.

At this week's meeting, the Beecher City school board placed a tentative budget for the coming year on public display; approved the risk management plan to pay 100% of the cost of the school nurse's salary from the Tort; hired Paula Thompson, who had been the coach at Cowden-Herrick, as the high school volunteer cheerleading coach under the new co-op program; and recalled Mitch White and Sherry Wright as teacher aides.
