The Teutopolis community has been recognized with a Sportsmanship Award for their spirit and conduct at the State Baseball Tournament in Peoria in June.

The Illinois High School Association awarded the Sportsmanship Award, which was in honor of "Teutopolis High School, and your community."

Another honor was announced, this one for Teutopolis Junior High School Principal Pat Drees, who was recognized as Wabash Valley Middle School Principal of the Year.

In regular business Monday night, the Teutopolis board awarded bids for property/casualty insurance and for workers compensation coverage; renewed a three-year contract with Bushue Human Relations for help with insurance and related items; decided to maintain the current hazardous bus routes; approved policy changes recommended by the Illinois Association of School Boards; and agreed to dispose of some district-owned property no longer valuable to the district.

The Board accepted the resignation of Sarah Schabbing as junior high track coach; hired Chelsey Greuel as high school assistant cross-country coach and Kimberlin Wallace as JV girls volleyball coach; approved a tentative budget for the coming fiscal year; and approved a five-year renewal contract with Pepsi for vending machines and concessions; and approved a change in Board policy in regards to hiring personnel.
