The heavy rainfall overnight has resulted in a one-hour delay in the start of harness racing action today at the Effingham County Fair.

Post time is now 2pm. Seven races are on the card on this final day of harness racing at the fair this year. Hear the action on KJ Country 102.3.

The feature evening attraction tonight is the rodeo. Competition will begin at 7:30pm. Tickets are $15 for the infield, $10 for the grandstand.

"Firebox" will perform bluegrass music on the free stage tonight from 8-10pm. Also, Effingham County Sheriff's Department K9 Officer Rob Rich and K9 Justice will be doing demonstrations tonight at 6pm at the Effingham Elks and East Central Illinois District Drug Trailer.

It's also an armband night on the midway starting at 6pm with armbands for $20 allowing you to ride all you'd like.

As far as judging, the Class U dairy goat and 4-H dairy cattle shows started at 9am, and the 4-H pygmy goat show will begin at 1pm. Hear the results of 4-H judging each morning at 8:45am on KJ Country 102.3.

The fair runs through Saturday at the fairgrounds at Altamont.
