One person was injured in a collision south of Montrose Wednesday.

Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports a southbound vehicle driven by 26-year-old Bradly Tye of Robinson passed a farm implement vehicle at an intersection along the Montrose/Dieterich Blacktop, about a mile south of Montrose at 11:55am. At the same time Tye was passing, the farm vehicle made a left turn. Deputies say Tye swerved to avoid a collision and lost control of his vehicle. Tye's vehicle ran off the roadway and struck a tree.

Tye was injured and was taken to Carle Hospital in Urbana for treatment.

Deputies cited Tye for improper passing at an intersection and for driving too fast for conditions.
