Personnel Matters Addressed at Unit 40 Board Meeting

The Effingham Unit 40 Board of Education took action on several personnel matters at this week's meeting.

Resignations were accepted from Taylor Hinkle as a paraprofessional, from Mike Walker as assistant football coach and as 7th grade boys basketball coach, and from Rhonda Haythorne as a cook.

Those employed were Jordan Adams as junior high library clerk, Carsen Funneman as a junior high Science teacher, Vivian Cain as a school bus aide, Sherry Harmon as a kindergarten Title teacher, Kassie Ross as high school Special Education teacher, and Rhonda Haythorne, Amber Scoles and Sarah Jahraus as paraprofessionals.

A transfer was approved for Kim Heal as an English/Language Arts teacher at the junior high.

Leaves were approved for Megan Logue and Christa Hayes, and a retirement was approved for Donna Niemann as a transportation driver and cafeteria monitor.

Sheree Stoops was released as a cafeteria monitor at South Side.

Those appointed to positions included Donna Walls as junior high musical director, Nick Bushue, Shane Smith, Blake Wesselman and Aaron Adams as high school assistant football coaches, Jordan Adams as 7th grade girls track coach, Ryan Ervin as 7th grade boys track coach, and Alexis Holder as junior high cheerleading sponsor.

Christian Silva was approved as a volunteer high school assistant football coach, and a reduction in force was approved for Lori Saunders as a custodian, and then Saunders was hired as a junior high cook.
