The Effingham Central Business Group, a subsidiary of the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce, recently awarded the Downtown Business Improvement Award to Fresh Digs, Inc.

The Downtown Improvement Award is designed to recognize businesses in the central business district that contribute to the ongoing economic vitality of the area by improving their building and property.

Fresh Digs opened the doors to their new business in August 2014 and is located at 210 North Banker. Owners Selena Vahling, CEO and Joanna Davis, Chief Financial Officer, offer a mix of vintage, modern, local and global home goods and gifts.

The Effingham Central Business Group strives to develop and promote activities that will benefit and attract customers to central area businesses that make retail and service opportunities advantageous to shoppers in the Effingham area. The group meets at 5:30pm on the second Monday of every month at Village Wine and Gifts. For information on membership, contact Norma Lansing at 342-4147.
