The Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund invites all Illinois seniors to attend a free workshop on brain health on August 4 in Effingham.

The workshop, titled "Hold That Thought", is a research-based program offered in partnership with the University of Illinois Extension. Workshop attendees will learn the common causes of memory loss, tips to improve brain health and strategies to decrease forgetfulness.

The workshop in Effingham is the fourth in a series of 16 workshops offered to IMRF retirees throughout Illinois this summer and fall. IMRF will open attendance at select workshops to non-IMRF members if additional seats are available.

The Effingham workshop, which will be offered free of charge, will be held from 1-2:30pm at the Holiday Inn, 1301 Avenue of Mid Amerca in Effingham. Seating is limited, so advance registration is required. Same day walk-ins are not allowed.

To register, phone 1-800-ASK-IMRF between 7:30am and 5:30pm.
