Much of the action at Wednesday's meeting of the St. Elmo Board of Education involved personnel moves.

The Board reemployed Pamella Parrish as fulltime paraprofessional and Michelle Miller as halftime paraprofessional, and also hired Donell Sefton as halftime paraprofessional. Marcia Heckert was reemployed as District Treasurer, Brandy Whitten's resignation as fulltime teacher was accepted, and Isaac Grapperhaus was hired as a fulltime teacher and as junior high boys assistant basketball coach.

The Board approved a one-year medical leave request from fulltime teacher Elise Asher, accepted the resignation of Savannah Feezel as frosh/soph volleyball coach, and accepted a letter of retirement from Brenda Wilson at the end of the 2016-17 school year. Board members also approved a one year leave of absence for Krista Stine as a paraprofessional to fill a teaching vacancy for the coming year during Elise Asher's medical leave request.

Board members also awarded bids for commodities, directed Superintendent Deb Philpot to prepare a budget for the coming year, and okayed the elementary handbook.
