A Crawford County man, 45-year-old David C. Halterman of Palestine, was sentenced Monday to over 24 years (292 months) in federal prison on methamphetamine charges, according to US Attorney Stephen Wigginton.

Halterman was also ordered to serve five years' supervised release following his imprisonment, and fined $400. Halterman had previously pleaded guilty.

An indictment charged that Halterman, 37-year-old Rebecca A. Moore of Yale, 30-year-old Ashley M. Attaway of Yale, and 39-year-old Ricky Lee Roberts II of Franklin, Indiana conspired to knowingly and intentionally distribute methamphetamine and that on October 11-12, 2013, in Jasper County, Halterman knowingly and intentionally possessed with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of meth.

Attaway was previously sentenced to 188 months in prison, Moore to 168 months in prison, and Roberts to 262 months in prison.

The investigation was conducted by the Jasper County Sheriff's Department, the Crawford County Sheriff's Department, and the US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. The Jasper County State's Attorney's Office has assisted throughout the investigation in the case.
