A Chicago woman has been given a Federal prison sentence on drug charges stemming from activity in Centralia.

21-year-old Dominique A. Burwell was sentenced this week to 70 months in prison on charges of conspiracy to distribute heroin from September 2012 through October 2014 in Marion County, and distribution of heroin on July 29, 2014 in Centralia.

According to court documents, Burwell agreed with her co-defendants, a cousin and a friend, to distribute heroin for profit in Centralia. Burwell and the others shared a cell phone that customers would contact to order heroin. Burwell often answered the shared cell phone, took the orders, and then sent the others to complete the transaction.

The investigation was conducted by the FBI, the Marion County Sheriff's Department, and the Clinton County Sheriff's Department.
