Strong Beginnings Early Learning Center staff welcomes everyone to attend their open house tonight and Thursday night, July 8 and 9, from 5-8 pm, at their facility 388 West 6th Street in Neoga. The new preschool and early learning center, set to open in mid-August, is taking shape through the talents and guidance of educators Kim Varner and Marian Lindley. Strong Beginnings will nurture and educate children ages six weeks to six years. The center will offer both full and part-time care, with highly qualified staff. Their mission is to provide a solid foundation for their young children, with a non-denominational, Christian focus.

Varner stated, “We are excited to bring this project to fruition. This center is the result of a lot of prayer, and many talented hands. I’m especially happy to be working with my mother, Marian Lindley, as co-chairs of the non-profit board. Mel Workman is an avid supporter of this, and we’ll be his tenants in the building. He has offered a lot of encouragement and support for this project. For some time, we’ve wanted to build a childcare center like this in the Neoga community. We know instilling key learning and spiritual fundamentals in these young children is a launch pad for successful growth.

The team is diligently preparing for the opening of the center, partnering with individuals from many walks of faith. Carla Holtz, of Little Lambs Childcare Center in Effingham, is serving as a consultant to assist in the preparations. Holtz has been involved in many early learning center openings, and is well-equipped to give guidance to the team. The non-profit board is comprised of educators, business leaders and those with early education backgrounds. They are already receiving community support; a recent work day at the center drew many helpers to clean and prepare the outdoor areas.

Center director, Taylor Hinkle, commented, “The talent of the launch team is remarkable. We have education professionals with years of experience paired with those who are new to the field, to create an effective and energetic team. I know this will be a huge asset to the families we’ll serve.”

“We are creating a foundation for these children, our future,” added Lindley. “We encourage all who are curious, from parents, to community members and neighbors, to visit the open house for a tour and to meet our staff.”
