Effingham Man Hurt in One Vehicle Crash in Kinmundy

A 21-year-old Effingham man was injured in a single-vehicle crash on Illinois Route 37 in Kinmundy early Saturday morning.

Marion County sheriff's deputies say Glen Hazzard apparently fell asleep while traveling southbound. His vehicle left the highway, struck two signs at the Madison Street intersection, and struck culverts on both sides of Madison Street before coming to a stop.

Hazzard was taken to Salem Township Hospital for treatment of his injuries. He was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the crash, which occurred at 3:20am Saturday.
