Dieterich Announces Plans for Festive 4th

Plans are in place for a festive 4th of July celebration in the village of Dieterich.

Things will get started on Friday, July 3, with a beer garden and food stand that opens at 7pm and then the band "Tress and the Mixers" will play from 8-11pm with no cover charge in Liberty Memorial Park.

Events continue on Saturday, July 4 with a parade that begins at 11am. The theme is "Our Town, Our Heroes". Parade entries line up at the Dieterich High School parking lot at 10am. No registration and no entry fee for the parade.

A hog roast meal will be offered from 10:30am to 2pm in the air-conditioned Dieterich Community Kluthe Civic Center. 

The rest of the events will be held in the park in Dieterich. Here's the schedule:

7:30am--Firecracker 5K Run/Walk

8am-11pm--Beer Garden opens

Noon-dusk--Inflatable Kids Carnival

1pm--ATV/UTV/Garden Tractor Pulls

1pm--Youth Pedal Tractor Pull

1pm--Bingo starts

2pm--Power Wheels Demo Derby

2pm--Dieterich Alumni Baseball Game

3-5pm--"Firebox" bluegrass band under the pavilion

4pm-dusk--Gravity Golf on the baseball diamond (new event)

7pm--Little King and Queen Contest

8pm--Merchant Raffle Drawings

9:15pm--Fireworks
