Wide Load Travels Through Effingham

A wide load traveled through Effingham Friday afternoon. The load came down Fayette Avenue with many wide load trucks and police cars.

The load passed by the radio station here at the corner of Willow and Fayette and turned south on Willow Street heading towards Newton.

The truck pulling the structure was from Prospect  Steel which offers services across the country for all types of bridges. When asked, the driver said this indeed was a bridge that was going to be a walking bridge.

If you're headed to Newton or that area anything soon, be aware traffic will be back up behind the load.
