Two Pana Residents Arrested on Home Invasion, Aggravated Battery Counts

Mattoon police have arrested two Pana residents on counts of home invasion and aggravated battery with a firearm.

43-year-old Claudette Borders and 39-year-old Eldon Borders were arrested in Shelby County at 10:45am Monday.

The arrests stem from an incident that occurred Friday night in the 1300 block of Lakeland Boulevard in Mattoon. The suspects are alleged to have forced their way into a hotel room where they assaulted a woman with a firearm and stun gun. Minor injuries were reported.

Both suspects were taken to Coles County Jail in Charleston.
