Teutopolis High School will be the scene of local law enforcement training beginning tomorrow, and continuing into next month.

The high school building will be utilized Thursday and again on June 6 and June 9. The upcoming training will be attended by officers from the Effingham City Police Department, the Effingham County Sheriff's Department, the Altamont Police Department and the Teutopolis Police Department.

The training will focus on Rapid Response and Reaction to any type of life-threatening incident that may occur in a public place or building. The training is designed to incorporate officers from local jurisdictions and train them together as a team, because they often handle critical incidents together as they provide mutual aid. A spokesman said the training will be "an excellent opportunity for the different officers to train and work together for the benefit of their departments and community".

The administrators of Teutopolis High School asked the law enforcement officers involved to ask us to notify the public of the training so no one is alarmed when they see officers from different police agencies at the school.
