HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital’s Wound Healing Center has been recently honored with two patient satisfaction and quality awards that they have repeatedly won the last number of years. The awards were received from Healogics, the nation’s leading wound care management company. The Wound Healing Center received the Robert A. Warriner III, MD, Center of Excellence Award by achieving and maintaining high quality standards for consecutive years. The Wound Healing Center has achieved patient satisfaction over 92%, and a 91% healing rate in 30 median days, among other quality outcomes.  This is the fourth year in a row that St. Anthony’s Wound Healing Center has received this distinguished honor. The award is named after the Chief Medical Officer of Healogics.

By meeting these high quality standards, the hospital’s Wound Healing Center also received the Center of Distinction Award, the fifth year in a row they have achieved this achievement.  St. Anthony’s Wound Healing Center is a member of Healogics’ network of over 500 centers, providing high-quality wound care and consulting services to hospitals across the United States. Since the partnership began in January 2010 to provide wound healing services, the hospital’s Wound Healing Center has cared for over 2,723 patients from this region, offering them hope and healing.

Less than one percent of the 506 Healogics’ wound centers have had the honor of winning both the Center of Distinction Award and the Center of Excellence Awards five years in a row. That means St. Anthony’s Wound Healing Center is one of the top four Healogics’ managed centers in the nation in offering high quality and patient satisfaction.

Tammy Probst, Director of the Wound Healing Center, shared, “We couldn’t be prouder to have received these awards again this year. To be considered in the top one percent of the country is quite an honor and one which we do not take lightly,” she said. “The awards reflect the that we are providing area residents with the exceptional wound care they deserve,  helping them to get back to living happy, healthy lives. By bringing them hope and healing, we continue to live out the mission of St. Anthony’s to reveal and embody Christ’s healing love for all people through our high quality Franciscan health care ministry,” Probst said.

St. Anthony’s Wound Healing Center staff are highly trained in the specialized, comprehensive care of problem wounds, using the most up-to-date approaches in wound care.  The Wound Healing Center cares for people that have wounds that have not begun to heal in two weeks or have not completely healed in six weeks.  Patients are referred by their family doctors or can refer themselves by calling St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital’s Wound Healing Center to make an appointment at 217-347-3565.
