Details on Crash w/Injuries in City on Saturday

Effingham city police have released information on a crash at Fayette and Willow during the noon hour on Saturday.

The crash occurred at 12:22pm when a vehicle driven by 79-year-old Alice Pruemer of Teutopolis struck a vehicle driven by 83-year-old Phyllis Bixler of Newton.

Both drivers were injured and were taken by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. 

Pruemer was cited for disobeying a traffic control device.

Police also are investigating the theft of an engagement ring valued at $2,000.

The ring was taken from 1909 South Banker, Suite C last Thursday between 6:20 and 9:20pm.
