Cowden-Herrick school board members have reorganized following the April election.

Megan Miller, Luke Nohren and Mike Myers were elected to new terms. Miller and Nohren were sworn in to office, but Myers will be sworn in later as he could not attend the meeting.

Board members elected Dale Mahaffey to another term as board president, Greg Jones was elected vice-president, and Megan Miller was chosen board secretary.

While three were elected to seats on the Board in April, there were four seats open. The Board appointed Melanie Meek, a past board member, to fill the vacancy.

Cowden-Herrick Superintendent Darrell Gordon said the Board will hold a special meeting on Monday, May 11 at 6pm at the Cowden Board Room. Gordon said the Board will meet in closed session to begin interviews with candidates for their junior-senior high school principal's post. He said it is possible the Board could hire someone for the post at the Monday meeting.
