Two 21-year-olds from Effingham have been arrested on charges including burglary and theft.

Anthony J. Henkelman and Rachael L. Stephens were arrested by Effingham City Police Monday night. Effingham County State's Attorney Bryan Kibler said the two are suspected of breaking into a vehicle parked at Gabby Goat on East Fayette and breaking into a vehicle parked at a motel along East Evergreen Avenue. Kibler said it's alleged the pair stole a handgun from one of the vehicles. Kibler said surveillance video at Gabby Goat led to notification of other restaurants to monitor their lots and that led to the apprehension.

The charges against both suspects include possession of a stolen firearm, felony theft, and burglary. Both have prior felony convictions.
