The Illinois Department of Transportation, in conjunction with the Illinois Capital Development Board, is touring the state to discuss the state's infrastructure needs and efforts to make Illinois competitive in a 21st Century global economy. A stop is scheduled this week in Effingham. Results of the listening sessions will be part of a package of recommendations for Governor Bruce Rauner.

The Effingham stop is set for Wednesday from 4-5pm at Effingham City Hall. An IDOT presentation will be followed by comments by a Capital Development Board representative and then information from a local panel. The panel will include Dean Bingham of Agracel, Inc. representing Business, State Senator Kyle McCarter representing Government, and Lake Land College President Dr. Josh Bullock representing the Civic community.

A 15-minute question and answer time will follow, and then some Open House time. District staff members will be on hand to answer questions about specific projects.
