Beecher City School Board Dismisses Boys Basketball Coach

The Beecher City Board of Education Monday voted 4-3 against rehiring Jason Eirhart as varsity boys basketball coach.

The vote came one season after the Board voted 4-3 to retain Eirhart as coach.

The Board also decided to revisit co-oping with the Cowden-Herrick school district in all sports.

Also Monday, Beecher City board members approved student insurance through Markel Insurance, hired Susan Seiler as speech pathologist, and approved a series of technology upgrades. The work will include replacing 45 computers, some software upgrades to Windows 7, and wiring improvements.

Board members retained Britt Wendling as a social worker, approved Mitch White as a volunteer high school baseball coach, and hired Ben Zuber as a halftime Business instructor. He will replace Kristi Sayers who will teach the second County CEO Class beginning next school year.

The Beecher City Board also approved a trip to the National Future Business Leaders of America Conference, to be held in Chicago June 29-July 2. Students Seth Lagerhausen, Angela Haslett, Joanna Neu and Lance Arnold will be participating from Beecher City.
