Effingham Noon Rotarians Wednesday learned more about the Effingham Family Life Center.

Center Director Tami Shull said the entity, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, was established by Loretta Koester, Bud Althoff and Dr. Henry Poterucha as a resource for women facing unplanned pregnancies. Shull said the agency faces such events from a Christian perspective, and is pro-life in practice.

Since the organization began, its services have expanded to include various programs for women as well as for the fathers of the babies on the way. There are also courses to assist fathers and mothers once the baby is born.

John Hagen served as Rotary weekly program chairman.
