County Board Committee to Consider Fireworks Ordinance Today; Vote on Fehrenbacher Tonight

The Effingham County Board's Legislative Committee is expected to consider a vote today on a proposed fireworks ordinance.

The measure would allow the sale of fireworks in the county. Health care and fire officials have voiced opposition to the measure.

The meeting will begin at 2pm at the County Office Building downtown in the third floor Board meeting room.

The Teutopolis School Board meets tonight to consider the dismissal of Andy Fehrenbacher as boys varsity basketball coach. 

Meeting time is 6:30pm in the high school media center.

The Beecher City School Board meets at 7pm in the high school building. Several personnel matters will be addressed, including whether to re-hire Jason Eirhart as boys varsity basketball coach, and the resignation of longtime varsity boys baseball coach Bill Hammer.
