Effingham County Cultural Center and Museum Association and Lake Land College are sponsoring a public presentation on Abraham Lincoln to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Lincoln's death, the funeral procession and the end of the Civil War.

A night of history is planned, including topics like what it was like when the Civil War was ending, the reaction to the news of Lincoln's death, and embalming practices in the 1860s. You will also be able to see Lincoln artifacts displayed the museum, including a parade torch, Lincoln portraits, reprints of the Gettysburg Address, and a collection of statements from people who were associated with Lincoln.

The presentation is set for Wednesday, April 15 at 7pm at the Effingham County Courthouse Museum. The doors will open at 6pm for visitors to walk through the museum. History enthusiasts will be treated to Civil War re-enactors greeting them at the doors.
