Jobless numbers in Illinois are still slowly improving.

The Illinois Department of Employment Security says that the state’s unemployment rate fell one tenth of one percent to 6.0%. The state saw gains in most employment sectors.

IDES Director Jeff Mays says that the state’s growth rate is half that of the nation's and it will take more than a year for the state to be back at employment levels seen previous to the recession. The nation’s unemployment level is 5.5%.
