Teutopolis village officials are hopeful they'll get more signups for a cast iron watermain replacement project.

The project cost is estimated at $650,000 but, if enough citizens sign up, the Village could obtain grant money that would cover all but $150,000 of the expense. The deadline to return surveys to the Village Hall has been extended to Monday, the 23rd.

Village board members Wednesday approved an almost $22,000 payment to A.J. Walker for work on the Commercial Drive road project in the village's west side TIF District. The village has received several inquiries from those interested in locating in the district. The Board also passed three ordinances clarifying the exact boundaries of the TIF District.

Teutopolis board members voted to retain employee health insurance coverage through Blue Cross at a 4% premium increase, but tabled action on the purchase of a three-phase generator, and tabled consideration of an employee request for an IMRF survey.
