Altamont school board members heard this week that school officials want to meet with their contractor on timelines concerning their grade school renovation project.

Superintendent Jeff Fritchtnitch said he plans to meet with GRP Mechanical to discuss the district's timeline and the contractor's timeline so that the work begins and ends on time.

Fritchtnitch also reported that resurfacing of the all-weather track at Altamont Grade School is scheduled for June.

Also, a petition to detach property from the St. Elmo school district and annex into the Altamont district is on file with a hearing before the Regional Board of School Trustees on April 6. The Board also approved coach and sponsor recommendations for next school year, and registration fees, class fees an athletic admission fees.

High school principal Jerry Tkachuk reported that the senior class trip leaves Thursday at 7pm and will return Monday about 6am. Tkachuk also reported that Maria Kuhns is this year's valedictorian, and Serena Strullmyer and Jaden Zumbahlen are co-salutatorians.

Altamont board members approved a three-year contract for grade school principal Doug Hill, and appointed Kacy Perry to second year teacher status.
