No Local Finalists at State Fair Competition

It was a rare year for Effingham County at this weekend's Illinois Association of Agricultural Fairs Convention.

Effingham County had no finalists in either the Fair Queen Pageant or in the Fair Talent Search. Miss Effingham County Fair Melissa Davis of Dieterich was among the contestants, as was Sierah Ruffner of Vandalia, who is Miss Fayette County Fair.

The Effingham County Fair Talent Search winners for 2014...Sophie Deters of Effingham in the Junior Division, and Lindsey Tieffel and Daejah Hawthorne of Effingham in the Senior Division...did not reach the finals, but reports are that they competed well.
