Dr. Beth Pressler has been hired as interim superintendent of the Neoga school district.

Pressler was hired to succeed retiring superintendent Charles Castle through the end of the school year. Castle's final day is February 6.

Pressler served as Carrollton school district superintendent for five years before retiring at the end of the 2013-14 school year. She had served as Triopia superintendent for three years before that, worked as a principal in the Alton district, and taught in both the Alton and Jersey school districts.

During a special meeting Wednesday, the Neoga board assigned other duties previously handled by Castle to other administrators. The Board also discussed the process of finding a permanent replacement for Castle, but there was no action.
