The Windsor and Stewardson-Strasburg school districts are moving closer to a new mascot and new team colors for their co-operative sports programs.

Windsor Superintendent Jeff Schoonover said his board discussed the issue at their meeting Wednesday night, but said they're waiting to see what input might be coming from Stew-Stras.

The Stew-Stras board is meeting tonight to discuss the issue, and could take action at the meeting.

Schoonover said each district held a meeting for their respective students and asked for their suggestions on colors and mascots. He said students then used ballots to vote for their favorites.

In the meantime, the Windsor board Wednesday voted to honorably release all of their coaches from their assignments as of the end of the school year, with an opportunity for each to re-apply. That includes sports that the districts are already co-oping.
