Beecher City Woman Injured in Crash

A Beecher City woman was injured in a single-vehicle crash early Monday.

The Effingham County Sheriff's Department handled the crash, which occurred at 12:30am on Illinois 128, one mile north of 1200th Avenue. Sheriff's deputies report a car driven by 16-year-old Kayla Kruger of Beecher City was northbound when Kruger lost control of the car on the ice-covered roadway. The vehicle slid off the west side of the road and struck a tree.

Kruger was injured, but was not taken for treatment. She was cited for driving too fast for conditions and for no valid driver's license.
